Video: The Wombats – Techno Fan (Live) {0}

One of the most fun bands you’ll ever find, The Wombats, are currently putting the finishing touches on their upcoming second album, entitled The Wombats Proudly Present… This Modern Glitch, which is slated for a April 2011 release date. The Liverpool trio released two amazing singles from the album in 2010 (“Tokyo” and “Jump Into The Fog”) and recently performed a third track entitled “Techno Fan” live on BBC Radio 1 for Zane Lowe.

Needless to say, these guys are not joking around. Everything they’ve ever released has been incredibly catchy, and their new LP is definitely towards the top of my list for 2011′s Most Anticipated Albums.

Diamond Messages is the solo project of Miami-based producer Jason Craig. Check out his track, “Liquid Summer,” which features a perfect blending of early Four Tet electronic textures and Delorean-esque vocal samples.

New: Teen Daze – Let’s Fall Asleep Together {0}

Another amazing track from Vancouver chill-waver Teen Daze. I’m a big fan of his electro-pop sound that was featured heavily on debut album Four More Years, but have zero issues with the lo-fi simplicity of his latest work on the new Teen Dreams EP — be sure to grab it as a pay-what-you-want over at his bandcamp page.

The Top 75 Tracks of 2010: 51-75

The Top 75 Tracks of 2010: 51-75 {0}

After another incredible year for music, the time has finally come to rank the best Tracks & Albums from the past 365 days. I’ll be releasing my Top 75 Tracks of 2010 in twenty-five song increments over the next three days, and will follow-up with my Top Albums shortly thereafter.

Before we get started, it’s worth noting that album “leaks” cause a lot of confusion when it comes to proper year-end music evaluation — thank you, Internet. As an example, I had included Local Natives’ album Gorilla Manor in last years rankings because of its November 2009 UK release date. (The album dropped stateside in February 2010.) Just for fun: if I were assigning a value to that album for this year, it would have been #4, and I digress.

Let us kick things off with the Top Tracks of 2010: #51—75:

51: Delorean – “Real Love”
52: Drake – “Fireworks”
53: Geographer – “Kites”
54: Sleigh Bells – “Rill Rill”
55: The National – “Bloodbuzz Ohio”
56: The Holidays – “Broken Bones”
57: Surfer Blood – “Floating Vibes”
58: Hey Champ – “Neverest”
59: California Wives – “Blood Red Youth”
60: Chromeo – “Hot Mess”
61: School Of Seven Bells – “Windstorm”
62: Neon Indian – “Sleep Paralysist”
63: French Horn Rebellion – “This Moment”
64: Big Boi – “Follow Us”
65: Kele – “On The Lam”
66: Minus the Bear – “My Time”
67: Delta Spirit – “Bushwick Blues”
68: Spoon – “Mystery Zone”
69: CeeLo Green – “F*** You”
70: Grum – “Turn It Up”
71: Gorillaz – “Empire Ants”
72: The Morning Benders – “Excuses”
73: Kisses – “Kisses”
74: Caribou – “Odessa”
75: Mux Mool – “Get Better John”
